FZ6 sticky clutch

I own a fz6 from 2006, it has run about 13000km. I really love the bike, it is my first, and i have been running it for 3 seasons now "only summer".

The only thing i dont like is the gearbox, its like i have to "relearn" it everytime im going for a spin, to make it shift smoothly.

I know these bikes have a "clunky" box, and that is just the way it is, but i noticed that my clutch plates are very sticky. If i put it in to first gear "engine off" and pull the clutch, i have to pull really hard on the back tyre the get the clutch loose and rotate the back tire freely..

Is this normal?

Sorry for my bad english, hope you understand what i mean.

Thx Thomas.

I had kinda the same issue on my fz1....the bike sat for a year and the clutch plate where actually stuck together....the fix.....take the clutch plates out.....soak the fiber plates in oil and clean (with a scotch brite pad) the metal plates and put it back together.....then it works like it should....

Sticky clutch

I bought my FZ6 in Feb. with "a sticky/grabby clutch" - my 1st. Fazer, so have had nothing to compare it to.

My bike did the same cold as yours, I couldn't put it into gear without it stalling the engine and I had to pull the lever 10-12 times before it would go into gear, and even then, with a clunk and a jerk.

I have now finally changed the clutch and the bike is transformed.
