clunky shifting

I just bought a 05 FZ6. The shifting is not very smooth compared to other bikes I have been on. It clunks into gear most of the time. the clutch lever is hard to squeeze also.
Do I need a new cable or new clutch

Think you need to adjust your clutch cable by the clutch lever

I too, am having issues with a 2000 model YZF600 bike ,and it shifting weird ... a buddy of mine posts here , and says to try Lucas trans oil additive ... I'm there, cuz I want this bike shifting as clean as possible by the time the title comes back from MVA... so I can sell it with a good conscience ! Anyone else try this additive ?

as we know, YZF600 motors(FZ6) , don't have the smoothest action in town, but they aren't so much weak...the Lucas additive did help noticeably ... just sayin.. your results may vary ;-)
