Sticky when cold

This might be a common problem, or perhaps not. I have a 2008 FZ6 fazer, and if it's been left overnight it has a strange problem. It can be started in neutral, but stalls immediately when put in 1st, as if the clutch wasn't pulled in. It can take a few attempts to get it working. When it's warmed up it's not such a problem; the warmer the engine, the less of a problem it is. Sometimes if it's been sat a couple of days it's even hard to get the bike rolling in neutral, it's like the engine's seized. A few jiggles and it usually frees up.

My solution so far has been to put it straight into 2nd when it's cold, which works, but I'm coming up to selling it and really need the problem amended. I'm guessing it's maybe cluth plates sticking, but it's had replacement plates put in 5000 miles ago, so I'm not sure.

Anyone else have this problem? What was needed to rectify it?
