switch to LED bulbs to compensate for GPS charger
I use my 2005 Fazer Fz6S mostly for commuting to work in heavy city traffic and it seams that the 30 (+30) minutes daily ride is not enough to keep my battery charged (head, tail, license plate and accessory lights mandatory by law). I have the standard 310W stator and 10A battery on her and I am thinking of adding up a 12V cigarette plug for my GPS/heated gloves.
In the service manual I saw that the 310W produced by the stator are at 5000rpm but does anybody know how much will it give in neutral at stop lights and in city traffic (the dealership mechanic advised me to change gears at 2500 rpm)?
Based on my computation the standard incandescent light bulbs will consume 136W (with one side signals and break light on). A complete upgrade to LED lights will drop that down to 85W (62% of the stock bulbs) but is that enough to keep my battery happy and support an iPhone/Garmin charger?
BTW...do any of you know the socket size/name for the bulbs? I know the headlights are H4 and H7 but for the rest the manual only gives the wattage (not quite sure what to buy and the sales consultants are not helping...)
