Unhappy Moving over to the dark side

I have done something I thought I would never do...... I bought a Kawasaki. When checking out the new FZ-07 at the dealership I was persuaded to look at the ninja 650. I hate to see my trusty FZ6 steed go but I had over 51,000 miles on her and it was either time to invest in valves, CCT, spark plugs, etc. or trade her in. The dealership is making me a pretty good deal. I have enjoyed my 4 years and 45,000 miles on my FZ6 and I am saddened to see her go . When it came time to replace I would have loved to pick up another FZ6. However the FZ6R is not the same bike and the FZ-07, 08, 09 are all naked bikes that do not offer the seasonal protection I need to ride all year in Michigan. The ninja 650 was the closest thing I could find to replace the FZ6. I have enjoyed this forum and received excellent tips and information along the way. This weekend I will be handing the keys of Fizzics over to the dealer and bringing home my new 2014 Kawasaki ninja 650.

The MT-09 is not an option. I need fairing protection to commute to work everyday. Yamaha has announced the 2015 FJ-09 which looks quite nice and would have been on the top of my list. However, I needed to have something in 2014 and although Yamaha has not released pricing for the FJ-09, I can not imagine it could compete with the $7,400 out the door price I got for the 2014 Ninja 650R. Maybe in 5 years I will be back in the Yamaha fold. Yamaha has lost the daily commute crowd with its current line-up and appear to be starting to address that now. Too bad it was too little, too late, for me.
