Hi all,

Have an '07 Red FZ6...About 9,000 trouble free miles....has anyone changed the plugs (recommended @ 8,000 miles) on their FZ? I got the one out on the right side and it looked perfect. Didn't bother looking at others.....got a rainy day and was bored....tried the left side....WOW...drop the radiator....what's the deal???

I really didn't try too hard...wasn't that bored....

To change the plugs you need to drop the radiator. If you use the supplied spark plug tool, changing the plugs is a 20 minute job. Yes change the plugs every 8k miles, it makes a huge difference. Most people upgrade to the Iridium plugs too.

Mr. Wolf,

I didn't mean to snub you by not responding to your info about changing plugs. I just did it last night and all went fine. Tips to anyone attempting this; remove the bottom radiator bolt first; then the one on the left (clutch side) and slide the rad toward you, it's on a "peg" or stud; only one bolt on top. Neat set up.

It's easier to remove ALL plug wires (they're numbered), gives you more room to work.

I did this with 12,000 miles on it and the plugs I took out looked good; golden brown. And yes, it did make a differnce in performance. Seemed smoother. Maybe it's in my head but...

Thanks for the info..
