According to my GPS and everyone around me :D my speedo is way out of wack.... seems to be a "standard" issue with the bike.
I just don't like the higer mileage that translates to.
I know you can get a "speedo healer" for $$$ but I should not have to pay to fix this.
I'll toss a larger front sprocket on it and get the error down a bit I guess.
is there enough room in there for one tooth more? I've not pulled
the side cover to check yet.
most of my mileage is Highway, so taller gearing would be okay.

Did you buy your bike used? Did someone install a -1 sprocket in the front?
The standard people experience is usually anywhere from 5-7% happy, so 11% sounds a little high. Also, if you put a +1 on the front or -2 on the back, your odo will be off. The speedo is happy due to some import laws or something like that, but the odo is pretty much dead on give or take 0.5%.
Also, due to the high revving nature of the engine, many have experienced the same or lower fuel economy by going +1 in the front for highway mileage. It makes the engine work harder. If you want to you can go to the link in my sig and search on there, there are several posts about it, I believe one of the most current ones is by DMac.
Thanks Brad, Well it's a pretty old post, I've swapped the fornt to
+1 and I must say that I like it more than the standard gearing.
It gives you a usable 1st gear in bad traffic and does not require so
much shifting all the time for vaiations in speed. The slightly longer
legs are also great out on the highway.... I have not noticed any
fuel consumption differences, but the way I ride most likely accounts for that. :D
